Beginners Guide to Alchemy
Alchemy[edit]
Alchemy allows you to make essences and metal bars. The higher your alchemy level, the less you will fail at making essences or bars.
Your First Essence (Fire)[edit]
Fire essences are used in most jewelry and bars.
Requirements[edit]
- 1 Sulfur
- 1 Red Snapdragons
- 1 Red Rose
Walkthrough[edit]
The first essence you will make is the fire essence. It is used for most bars and jewelry. Get at least 1 of each of the following: Sulfur, Red Snapdragons, Red Rose. Don't forget to wear Leather Gloves when harvesting Sulfur. Once you have made sure your food level is above 0 and you have those in your inventory put one of each in the manufacture window. Click either Mix or Mix all and if you don't fail you will have created a fire essence.
Summary[edit]
These ingredients may be harvested without additional Knowledge or Nexus. Fire Essence can be sold quite profitably by trading with a NPC. The Tutorial NPC gives 3 leather gloves for completing the Manufacturing Quest. Leather Gloves can also be purchased at any General Store.
Your Second Essence (Water)[edit]
Some uses for Water essences are to polish gems and make dyes.

The second essence you will make is the water essence. It is used the most by Crafters and Tailors. Get at least 1 of each of the following: Blue Lupine, Blue Star Flower, Blue Quartz and Sapphire. To harvest Blue Quartz and Sapphires you will need to buy a Pickaxe from any General Store. Harvesting Blue Quarts also requires an Inorganic Nexus of 1 and Knowledge. Harvesting Sapphires requires an Inorganic Nexus of 4 and Knowledge. Alternately Blue Quartz and Sapphires can be bought from the NPC Harvey in Desert Pines. Once you have made sure your food level is above 0 and you have those in your inventory put one of each in the manufacture window. Click either Mix or Mix all and if you don't fail you will have created a water essence.

New players may purchase Blue Quartz and Sapphires instead of harvesting them. Harvesting these items requires extra Knowledge from reading books and additional Nexus from the Wraith.
Your Third Essence (Earth)[edit]

The third essence you will make is the earth essence. It is used by ----. Get each of the following: Coal, Sulfur and Swamp Candles. To harvest Coal you will need to buy a Pickaxe from any General Store. Harvesting Sulfur requires Leather Gloves. Once you have made sure your food level is above 0 and you have those in your inventory put each ingredient in the manufacture window. Click either Mix or Mix all and if you don't fail you will have created a earth essence.

To harvest Silver Ore and Diamonds you will need to buy a Pickaxe from any General Store. Harvesting Silver Ore also requires an Inorganic Nexus of 2 and Knowledge. Harvesting Diamonds requires an Inorganic Nexus of 4 and Knowledge. Once you have made sure your food level is above 0 and you have those in your inventory put each ingredient in the manufacture window. Click either Mix or Mix all and if you don't fail you will have created an air essence.
