Here you will find explanations as to how to maximize your trips into a mine. Remember, essences weigh 1 EMU, ores and minerals from 2 to 4 EMU. With the right planning you can mix on site and walk out having harvested and mixed more than had you merely mined the ore or mineral.
Remember to attempt to always mine during cooldown when possible, except for the first few harvests you should never be mining in a cave for these formulas unless you're waiting on fruit to cool down. This takes some adjustment to get used to, but once you do you will find the life of a solo alchemist isn't that bad. The big upside? You can attend harvest events and collect resources that you do not use for when a Green Day/Earth Day [] strikes. The other upside? you have a chance of obtaining the rare stones [] that can only be found while mining.
Now that food is storable, this works anywhere there's sulphur and a storage, but particularly well where the overland map has Red Snap Dragons and Red Roses easily available. On Seridia (C1), your best bet is someplace like Desert Pines, though if you harvest your flowers elsewhere you can do this in Morcraven Marsh. If you luck out to be on Irilion, you've some really good choices. If you can find the secret [] in Emerald Valley Trade Route you can produce your fire essences there with short trips all around for Red Roses, Fruits, Red Snap Dragons, and into the mine. Palon Vertas is much easier, in that you do not need to find the secret, but your walks are a bit longer for supplies. As always, when done mixing fill your inventory with sulfur and bring it to the surface.
Fire Essence Equation : 1 Fruit to 30 Flowers (15 RSD + 15 R.Roses) and 2 gloves For the first 100 Flowers (50 RSD + 50 R.Roses) 1 extra pair for each additional 150 Flowers (75 RSD + 75 R.Roses)
Another easy trick exists on C2 alone, the creation of earth essences in one mine. I know of nowhere on C1 where this is
possible, so please let me know if you find a place with sulfur and coal on C1. This is particularly useful in Palon Vertas.
Enter the mine with TWO Emu open and the following equations. 2 Fruit for every 15 Swamp Candles 2 Pick Axes + 2 Pairs of Gloves for the first 100 flowers. 1 Pick Axe + 1 Pair of Gloves fro each additional 100 flowers.
With 2 EMU open you can harvest one sulphur, walk over to the coal and create bag. Go back and forth mixing and mining as you can. I recommend that you decide to walk out with EITHER sulfur or coal on each trip.
Never, under any circumstances, leave a mine without as full an emu as possible. Remember 1 fruit is woth the sacrifice for 1 sulphur (eat the fruit, 45 in your food bar is always good).
