Event protocol

Know your position

Each member of an event, be it harvest, alchemy, potions, etc. has a role. In all events not at a storage you will find the following roles.

Bag keeper

Much responsibility there is in being the Bag Keeper. The Bag Keeper is responsible for granting access to the primary place for storing of harvested items, replenishing food, granting tools, and providing health essences to those working. Additionally this person must ensure the bag is refreshed frequently so nothing is lost. If they are harvesting, they should designate an alternate in case of random flight.

Harvester

Those in this role are designated to harvest goods around them. They should be prepared to have Fate hit them with all that is in her arsenal. Anything other than the target objective that is found while mining belongs to the miner to compensate for the risks. If the miner chooses, they can donate it to the project and the gold coin value of the find will be divided evenly amongst the participants. ALL Harvesters should SIT when not needing the bag, any Harvester that remains standing will not be invited back.

Mules

These folks get to be the ones to travel twixt the bags and storage. The lead mule (highest EMU) tends to collect all the goods in the end, and distribute them evenly amongst the participants. Basic math skills required.

Planned events

Harvest saturdays

Each week we harvest something different and exciting, please check out our Google Calendar for more information. Don't have access to our Calendar? Here's the steps:

  • Ask any member for a gmail address of a Calendar Admin
  • Either send that person a gmail from your gmail account that is set up in your characters name or send him an email requesting an gmail invite.
    • If you got an invite, be careful, and sign up with your Eternal Lands Character name.
  • Contact DragonCairn or another Calendar Admin for access to our calendar - after a month or two (as in when they think about it) you'll get promoted from VIEW ONLY to being able to CREATE and EDIT events...

How it works

  • Most supplies are provided, but you might wish to bring a spare tool or two just in case we run out.
  • Food is almost always plentiful, come hungry
  • What you do with your share of the the harvested item is your choice.
  • Harvest events usually only run an hour, but might take a little longer to get everything to storage.
  • Please join channel <chosen event channel> to communicate during an event
  • If you need something, ask a bag holder
  • Limit the number of bags so that our mules don't have to jump on too many bags.

New: extended events

Character Statistics For Event Purposes - Using this form will put you on our invite list and if those in Fellowship don't object, you will most likely be invited to our next event.

The Fellowship will be attempting an Extended event once a month for the next few months. Randomly determined a harvest event will be hanged to reflect something more. Currently we are planning on Fire Essence and Earth Essence style events. We may do Matter Essences and Health Essences in the future as well, these type events are harder to plan and execute, and we ask your forbearance as we attempt to work the kinks out.

Complex team work

For these events to work, we need team players who are willing to go the extra mile, we'll be setting up team captains, and may even be considering setting up extra channels for the various teams to coordinate their efforts without impacting the global event channel. If the Coordinator deems that only one Supply Coordinator

Mules

  • The Mule Captain (usually the one with the highest EMU) in addition to coordinating the muling efforts will collect all the goods in the end, and distribute them evenly amongst all participants.
  • This team will be the ones to travel twixt the Bag Sitters and storage.
  • If there is to be any external foraging, this is the team to do it - flower harvesting, food gathering.
  • The Mule Captain may at any point distribute his team back to assist the others - and will inform the Coordinator that these individuals are available for temporary reassignment.
  • The Mule Captain is the only Mule needed to be on <Chosen Event Channel> (unless it's the only channel)

Miners/alchemists

  • Each team will have a Supply Coordinator
  • With gloves or pick axes these hardy souls will take on mother nature, radon, and cave ins to acquire the inorganic components necessary to make our event a success.
  • They will also be responsible for completing the alchemy as necessary.
  • These folks do not need to be on <chosen events channel> (unless it's the only channel)

Supply coordinator

  • Keeping a bag of supplies going and ensuring the well fare of their miners/alchemists is the chief concern of a Supply Coordinator
  • Depending on the number of participants, there will be one to three Supply Coordinators.
  • Each of these individuals is responsible for coordinating a team of Miners/Alchemists- they will report to the Coordinator as to what their needs are and if their team members need to be assigned to work somewhere else.
  • If they are going to attempt mining, they need to discuss with their team who is to take the bag in the event of finding a teleport nexus.
  • This position requires management skills and coordination abilities. Each of these members must also be on <chosen event channel>

Coordinator

  • The Coordinator may take any one of the roles available as they choose, BUT might want to consider taking the role of Lead Mule.
  • Responsible for insuring that each team has appropriate members, and enough workers of the right type.
  • Will determine if the additional channels are required - and will place folks into the teams as necessary.
