Among its many uses, this template can prevent a number-unit pair from being split if it appears at the end of a line. For example, the text "900 gc" will normally split if at the end of a line so that the "900" appears at the end of the line, and the "gc" appears at the beginning of the line below it. If this template is used, the number-unit pair would always remain together.
